Background:
Dr. Chester Koh is a pediatric urologist at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) and an assistant professor of Urology (Pediatric) at the Keck School of Medicine of USC. He completed his urology residency at USC and his research fellowship at Childrens Hospital Boston and Harvard Medical School, as well as at the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine. He then completed his pediatric urology fellowship at Childrens Hospital Boston and Harvard Medical School. Koh currently serves as director of the CHLA Pediatric Robotic Surgery Program, which provides robotic-assisted laparoscopic surgery for pediatric patients. This allows the application of the most technologically advanced tools available for reconstructive urologic procedures in children with better accuracy. In addition, Koh also serves as a principal investigator in the Developmental Biology, Regenerative Medicine, and Surgery Program in the Saban Research Institute at CHLA, with NIH (NIDDK) funding to support his research in the stem cells and bladder tissue engineering fields.
